We continue introducing the members of EDIA. This time we visited the company Galvi-Linda, located in Viljandi, which has been a member of the association since 2011, being one of the founding members. It is also the first company that started developing military equipment together with the Ministry of Defense in 1997. Initially, they produced backpacks and harnesses. According to Galvi-Linda’s CEO Marge Laiõunpuu, EDIA was created out of the need to improve cooperation between Estonian companies and the Defense Forces, Police, and Rescue Board.
Currently, Galvi-Linda’s main products include safety and rescue vests, marine rescue suits, cannon and boat covers, hiking and military tents for the Norwegian, German, English, Swedish and Finnish markets. However, a large part of the production has always been equipment for the Estonian Defense Forces – various types of backpacks, harnesses, bulletproof vests, tents, field uniforms, tent cloaks, rain suits, etc. Galvi-Linda also has a long-term cooperation with our police and rescue services, for whom they produce, for example, tactical vests and equipment belts and pouches.
The company employs about 80 people.
