At the end of March, the NATO Allied Joint Force Command organized an innovation-focused event called Warfighting Innovation Demonstration & Exhibition in Brunssum, Netherlands. Nine Estonian defense industry companies also had the opportunity to present their products and Estonia as an important European innovation center to nearly 900 guests, NATO Allied Forces Chief of Staff General Markus Laubenthal, and several other high-ranking visitors: DefSecIntel Solutions, Solita, Threod Systems, LINDANTE Ltd., CybExer Technologies, KrattWorks, Nortal, SensusQ, and Rantelon. The Defence Estonia cluster manager Rene Ehasalu was also in the Netherlands with the companies, who said that the event was an important platform for discussing cooperation between NATO allied forces while simultaneously introducing new innovative solutions. “Additionally, it provided an opportunity to discuss future defense technology development directions that help address today’s complex challenges. Participation in the event increased the international visibility of Estonian companies, enabled knowledge sharing, and promoted new technologies that support the development of NATO defense capabilities in various fields – from cybersecurity and situational awareness to drones and materials science.”
