The Estonian Defence and Aerospace Industry Association renewed its Council at General Assembly Meeting

Based on the decision of the general meeting, Oliver Väärtnõu (Cybernetica), Kuldar Väärsi (Milrem Robotics), Ingvar Pärnamäe (Vegvisir), Jaanus Tamm (DefSecIntel Solutions) and Arno Vaik (Threod Systems – Unmanned Aircraft Systems) will continue as members of the council. The current member of the Supervisory Board, Sten Reimann, was replaced by Jüri Etverk (Go Group). Taavi Veskimägi, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Villiko Nurmoja and Jaan Viru will continue as members of the Supervisory Board.

The general meeting of the Association started with a speech by Kristi Tiivas, Chairwoman of the Board of the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency, where she spoke about the involvement of capital and development grants in the defence industry.

Taavi Veskimägi, Chairman of the Council of the Estonian Defence and Aerospace Industry Association, presented the Association’s proposals to the Minister of Defence Hanno Pevkur on the defence industry policy objectives for 2024-2027, with the aim of achieving the targets set by 2030 the defence industry sector in Estonia has grown threefold to an industry with a turnover of approximately 450 million euros, of which exports account for 70%.
