On 17 September, we held the first-ever Estonia-Korea Defence Industry Seminar, bringing together representatives from both countries to strengthen defence cooperation. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between EDIA and the Korea Defense Industry Association (KDIA).
The programme featured an overview of Estonia’s defence industry from Kalev Koidumäe, and a strong industry panel including Kuldar Väärsi (CEO, Milrem Robotics) and Marko Kaseleht (SVP Defence, Nortal ), discussing perspectives on Korea-Estonia defence cooperation. Taavi Veskimägi (Chairman, EDIA) also joined a fireside chat on Estonia’s defence investment landscape and value proposition for strategic partnerships with Korea.
The day closed with pre-arranged B2B meetings between the Korean defence delegation and Estonian companies – a solid foundation for deeper cooperation ahead.
