Milrem Robotics, Europe’s leading developer of robotics and autonomous systems, opened a new production facility that will increase the company’s manufacturing capacity fivefold. The new facility, will be able to produce 500 THeMIS unmanned ground vehicles per year, enabling the company to meet the growing demand for intelligent robotic systems.
THeMIS is the world’s most geographically deployed robotics platform, with deliveries to date in 18 countries, including eight NATO countries: Estonia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, the UK and the US. The vehicles are also supporting Ukrainian soldiers in the war with Russia.
It is good to see that the Estonian defence industry has already proven itself to be at a very high level and will continue its ongoing development in order to remain competitive in the global market. It is noteworthy that the companies belonging to the EKTL today employ more than 8000 people.
