Satellites are an integral part of our high-tech society. Many of them produce vast amounts of data on the processes taking place on our planet.

KappaZeta Ltd, an Estonian remote sensing company and a member of the EKTL, is committed to the goal of valorizing satellite data using AI and extracting important information from it. Thanks to the implementation of AI, it will be possible to analyse many times more data with the same number of people and make faster decisions compared to their counterparts.

KappaZeta solutions, in partnership with the European Space Agency, have been used for a long time in agriculture, but could also make a significant contribution in the field of national defence, allowing the height and density of forests, or camouflage, the permeability of soil, the location of opposing forces, the type of equipment and much more to be assessed from satellite imagery. As a new direction, the company has started to develop a satellite mission aimed at creating an accurate, global and frequently updated 3D data source for estimating forest biomass and carbon stocks.

It is remarkable that the scope of activities of EKTL members is so broad, and that member companies contribute to innovation on a daily basis.
