In an interview with Delfi Ärileht, Chairman of the Council of the Estonian Defence and Aerospace Industry Association, Taavi Veskimägi, speaks about the need for the state to act more radically in strengthening Estonia’s defence capability. Otherwise, he warns, we risk spending too much time on procedural matters, which drives away investors — as happened with the ammunition factories that companies were willing to invest private capital in. However, according to him, the state has made significant progress in understanding that the more domestic defence industry we have, the better protected we are.
