Estonian Defence Forces buys footwear from an Estonian company for €3-million

The Defence Investment Center entered into a 4-year framework agreement with the local footwear manufacturer Soleest OÜ to purchase footwear for various purposes for the Defence Forces.

The boots made in cooperation between the specialists of Soleest OÜ and Samelin AS have been developed taking into account of the footwear of the Estonian and Scandinavian people and the climatic conditions of the Nordic countries. The advantage of boots, shoes and other various footwear is lightness, comfort and a modern sole, which ensures a high-quality and worth experience in every situation.

“Investments in product development and technology modernization have given us the opportunity to offer even higher quality solutions to Estonia and other allied countries. We also have to mention the close cooperation with future wearers, who gives us feedback on our products daily, which results in a user-friendly footwear,” said Leida Kikka, the CEO of Soleest OÜ.

“In essence, Soleest OÜ will supply the Estonian Defence Forces with most of the footwear listed on their supply tables. That means from tactical boots to shoes. The estimated cost of the agreement is 3 million euros, with which we will be able to meet the needs of the Defence Forces for more than 4 years, “said Marit Seim, category manager of the State Defence Investment Center.

A total of various boots are procured – leather-textile ankle boots, leather ankle boots, boot covers, regular ankle boots, aviator boots and winter boots, Navy safety boots, ankle boots with their insoles / linings, regular men’s and women’s shoes and other used shoes. The volume of the framework agreement is approximately 3 million euros.
