Did you know that the device on the photo, which fits in the palm of your hand is powerful enough to detonate up to two detonators within a 120m radius without the need for batteries?
This and many other high-tech devices are developed and manufactured by the Estonian mechatronics company Englo, which has been operating for over 30 years. Their product range includes special purpose measuring devices, detectors, indicators and blasting machines. The share of production for military purposes makes up nearly 50 percent of the entire product range, and they are also used by the Estonian Defense Forces. The first military products were developed already in the mid-1990s, initially metal detectors were manufactured, later mine detectors and blasting machines were added.
In addition to the defense sector, Englo’s products are used in road and civil engineering, mining, medicine and elsewhere. For example, radiometers produced by Englo helped ensure the safety of people in Japan after the Fukushima nuclear accident. In 2019, they were also awarded the title of Defense Industry Company of the Year.
