In any war situation, but especially today in light of the war in Ukraine, high-tech equipment, which gives an advantage over the enemy, is needed. The use of drones on the battlefield has grown at a rapid rate in recent years. In addition to the battlefields, drones and their deliberate misuse also causes problems in civilian life. The RF-based drone detection system developed by Estonian company Rantelon detects drones and their remote controls and helps to determine their direction. In a system with multiple combined drone detectors, it is possible to determine the exact location of the drone or controller using triangulation. Detected drones can be neutralized using Rantelon’s drone jammers, which suppress communication between the drone and the operator.
EKTL member Rantelon is a creator, developer and manufacturer of innovative electronic systems, whose focus is on solutions based on electronics, software, mechanics and radio and microwave technology. The use and control of the electromagnetic spectrum is one of the prerequisites of modern warfare, i.e. an important part of the foundation of national defense. The aforementioned jammers and drone guns are also actively used in Ukraine today.
The drone detection system “Soldier Personal Drone Detection System Quad-Band (SPDDS-QB)” developed by Rantelon was also awarded support in the defense industry development project competition this year. At the same time, Äripäev rated Rantelon as the best company in the electronics industry in 2023.
