This week, for the first time ever, Estonian defence companies are showcasing their products and technologies at AFRIDEX 2026 in Lagos, Nigeria. It is an important step in strengthening Estonia’s engagement with Africa and opening new avenues for cooperation with Nigeria and the wider region.
Proud to see Threod Systems, Baltic Workboats Ltd, KrattWorks, SensusQ and Electric Wings Group bringing Estonian innovation and expertise to the African market.
The past few days have been busy and productive, full of meetings and chances to introduce Estonia’s defence industry to regional partners. We have welcomed delegations from Egypt, the UAE, Zambia, Zimbabwe and beyond, as well as several distinguished guests, including:
🔹 General Christopher Gwabin Musa, Minister of Defence of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
🔹 Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence
🔹 General Dagvin R. M. Anderson, Commander of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM)
For Estonia, AFRIDEX 2026 is more than an exhibition. It is a first step into a new region, and we hope the beginning of long-term partnerships with Nigeria and other African countries, where Estonian technology can help address shared security challenges.
