The Estonian Defence Week, which began on Monday, brings together nearly 3000 guests from 35 different countries over five days. The week started with a day dedicated to defense innovation and continued with the 19th Annual Baltic Conference on Defence (ABCD). Today and tomorrow, a defense industry expo is taking place at Cultural Hub, where 80 defense industry companies from home and abroad are gathered. International corporations such as Saab, BlackBerry, Airbus and Helsing are represented. In addition to the expo, a symposium called “The Power of Disruption” will take place on Thursday, with the main speaker being European Commission Vice-President responsible for technological sovereignty, security and democracy, Henna Virkkunen. More than 70 technology enthusiasts are also present who, under the leadership of the European Defense Tech Hub, are solving real security and defense problems in a hackathon.
The Baltic region’s largest defense week, taking place for the first time, will conclude on Friday with the defense technology demo day EW Live at Tartu Ülenurme airfield.
The event is organized by the Defense and Aerospace Industry Association and the IME foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense and partners.
